Paul Martung


Paul Martung's destiny was set when his parents purchased the Chateau Barreyre in Langoiran in the Bordeaux area, where he worked in the vineyard during school holidays gaining valuable experience pruning and picking.

Paul started a two year internship at La Tour Blanche school whilst working at the renowned Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte in the Pessac-Leognan area, Bordeaux where he stayed for the 2011, 2012 and 2013 vintages.

Paul worked in Portugal in 2014 at Porto Cruz and then Australia with Rikard Wines in Orange from 2015 to 2017, where he was exposed to small batch winemaking with over 20 different varieties.

During 2015 Paul also worked in France in the Cotes de Cascogne (Domaine de l’Herre) making aromatic white wines including Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Gros Manseng (as well as the low alcohol Petite Faiblesse) and in 2016 at Chateau de Cerons in Graves appellation. 

In 2017, after achieving several vintages, he wanted to go back to Australia and did it by joining the Lowe family, working alongside David Lowe.

Paul has a Degree in Winemaking. He studied for three years at the École de viticulture et d'oenologie de La Tour Blanche (Sauternes).
